About Counterfeit.id

Counterfeit.id exists to serve two very different visitors who land on the same word. A consumer who's worried a recent purchase might not be authentic, and a business owner trying to keep counterfeiters from copying their brand, both start at "counterfeit" — but need completely different information. We built this site to serve both, in plain English.

What we do

For consumers, we provide general education on authenticity red flags across common counterfeit categories (electronics, luxury goods, apparel, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, auto parts), a free AI Counterfeit Red-Flags Checker, and clear guidance on reporting channels. For businesses, we cover marketplace enforcement, trademark recordation with U.S. Customs, and brand protection strategy, and connect you with trusted specialists and brand-protection platforms.

What we are not

We are not a law firm, a government agency, or a product authentication service. We do not definitively authenticate any specific item, and we never state or imply that any specific real brand, seller, product listing, or marketplace is selling counterfeit goods. The AI Counterfeit Red-Flags Checker and AI assistant on this site are illustrative, educational tools only, using general rule-based logic — not a review of your actual item.

How we're supported

We may be compensated when you use a partner service referenced on this site, including brand protection platforms like MarkMonitor and Corsearch, through affiliate links and pay-per-call arrangements. This never affects the accuracy of the general information we provide. See our advertising disclosure for details.
